Norwegian Air Shuttle to acquire FlyNordic

Norwegian Air Shuttle has announced that it will acquire FlyNordic, a subsidiary of Finnish flag-carrier Finnair.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed by the two companies and the ownership of FlyNordic - which flies to Dublin - will transfer to Norwegian in the second quarter of this year.

Bjorn Kjos, the chief executive of Norwegian, commented: "Norwegian has since the start in 2002 become Scandinavia's largest low fare airline.
The FlyNordic brand will remain in place and Norwegian will continue to focus on low fares for passengers, as well as improvements to the airline website and automated check-in.
