"The End" for Fly Me

Swedish budget airline FlyMe has ceased operations, grounding all its jets and leaving passengers stranded at airports around Europe.

In a statement, the airline's board of directors said they had failed to raise enough money to ensure the continued operation of flights which resulted in them filing for bankruptcy.
Danish airline Sterling.dk is offering passengers flying on international routes the option of a discount on a replacement ticket, while those people stranded overseas will be offered a free ticket home where seats are available.
FlyMe started operations in 2004 and offered flights to about a dozen European destinations, including a service between Stansted and Gothenburg.
