Flyglobespan to New York City, Cyprus and Johannesburg

Scottish low-cost carrier Flyglobespan will begin flights between New York City and Knock Airport in the west of Ireland from May 25, after receiving federal approval.

Michael Bloomberg, New York City Mayor, welcomed the new route, which will operate three times per week, having promised to lobby for Knock flights during a visit to Ireland last August.

Flyglobespan is undergoing significant transatlantic expansion this May, with new flights to Boston in the U.S., as well as new links with Calgary, Vancouver, Hamilton, Ottawa, and Toronto in Canada.

Meanwhile, Flyglobespan has announced that it will begin a new scheduled service to Cyprus from April 1 this year.

With taxes included, flights between Stansted and Larnaca will be available from £74.99 per leg of the journey, and the airline's chairman Tom Dalrymple is confident that this will prove exceptionally popular.

The service will operate exclusively at the weekends for the first few months but from May 28 it will be expanded considerably. The Stansted to Larnaca route will then operate on six days of the week, as Wednesday becomes the only unavailable day.

But that´s not all...

Flyglobespan will be adding a Johannesburg service to its South Africa flights programme from Manchester next winter.
From early November, Flyglobespan will fly twice a week to both Cape Town and Johannesburg from Manchester.
